Emergency Dentistry

No one plans for an emergency to happen, but as we all know, life happens when you least expect it. At Georgetown Dental Center, we’re here to help you get through a dental emergency in Indianapolis, IN, and get back to your busy life as quickly as possible. Same-day emergency appointments are available, and our team will always go above and beyond to try and get you into our office and seen as soon as possible within our convenient range of office hours.

Toothaches

A toothache could be caused by any number of issues, so it’s very important to get to your dentist for a proper evaluation. Rinse with warm salt water and take an anti-inflammatory medication if your health allows it. However, do not crush up the medication and put it directly on the tooth or gums – this will only cause even more irritation, pain, and possible burning of gum tissue.

Chipped Tooth

Almost anything can cause a chipped or broken tooth. Call us right away to get in for an emergency appointment. Rinse your mouth out in order to remove any lingering pieces of tooth. If the area is bleeding, apply some gauze to the injured area with some slight pressure.

Knocked-Out Tooth

While we’ve all experienced baby teeth popping out, the loss of a permanent tooth can be a scary situation. Remain calm, and follow these steps:

  • Check for any other serious injuries before proceeding with the tooth. Avoid touching the roots.
  • Rinse it with water.
  • Try to place it back in the socket. If you can’t, place it in a cup of milk or spit.
  • Apply gauze to control bleeding.
  • Call our office for an emergency appointment.
