General Dentistry

You probably see a primary care physician for your medical health. A general dentist performs the same function for your dental health. We see patients of all ages here at Georgetown Dental Center, providing comprehensive dental services from routine checkups to more complex treatments such as root canals. We take a proactive approach to your dental health, helping you prevent issues from developing and diagnosing and treating emerging issues early on. If you’re looking for general dentistry in Indianapolis, IN, you’ll find everything you need to keep your smile at its best here!

Preventive Dentistry

The core of our dental services includes such fundamental care as routine cleanings, check-ups, and exams to safeguard your dental health and your systemic health as well. While we look for signs of cavities and gum disease, we also conduct oral cancer screenings. And we recommend fluoride treatments to prevent decay and reinforce the teeth of our patients of all ages. Our mission is to maintain your oral health so that you never develop more serious dental conditions in the first place.

Pediatric Dentistry

The Georgetown Dental Center team isn’t just made up of dental professionals. We’re also parents. We understand that the new sights, sounds, and other sensations of a dental visit can upset some children, and we do our utmost to make our youngest patients, in particular, feel comfortable. We take a calming, empathetic approach to pediatric dentistry that you and your children will find refreshing.

Root Canal

If your tooth begins to decay, we can usually repair it with a filling. However, if the decay reaches the tooth roots, you may develop a painful infection that can’t be remedied with a filling. The good news is that we don’t have to remove the tooth—we can fix it with a root canal procedure. During this treatment, we remove all the infected tissue from the inside of your tooth before sanitizing it and packing it with a special filling material. We then fortify the tooth with a new crown.

Occlusal Adjustment

If your top and bottom arches of teeth are misaligned, you can develop speech problems and persistent headaches. If you don’t have this misalignment corrected, you may end up with worn-down and broken teeth. We can bring your teeth back into alignment by trimming down and reshaping the enamel of specific teeth.

Teeth Grinding/Bruxism

Do you wake up in the morning with an aching head or jaw? You might be grinding your teeth in your sleep. Teeth grinding, also called bruxism, can cause all sorts of pain as well as damage your teeth. We can make you a custom-fitted bite guard that you can wear in your sleep and reduce the damage of grinding.

Composite Fillings

Sometimes, despite our best preventive measures, cavities happen. When it’s time for a filling, we use composite, or white, fillings to match the color of your own tooth enamel. This composite filler is just as durable and far better looking than traditional metal (amalgam) fillings.

Inlays & Onlays

When a tooth needs to be repaired over a larger area than can be accommodated by a filling, but there’s not quite enough damage for a crown, we will use porcelain inlays and onlays. Inlays are used to repair a portion of the tooth, whereas an onlay covers the entire bite surface. We match these repairs to your existing enamel for a long-lasting and aesthetically pleasing result.

Crowns & Bridges

Teeth starting to fall apart or even out? Crowns and bridges can make your smile strong and beautiful again. Crowns, also called caps, reinforce your teeth after external damage or internal treatments such as root canals. We can also provide bridges if you have one or more teeth missing. These are rows of at least three crowns that are attached to healthy teeth on either side of a smile gap. Crowns and bridges are made to restore and complement your smile aesthetics.

Cosmetic Dentistry

After dental care, you should both feel better and look better. We offer a wide selection of cosmetic dentistry treatments as part of general dentistry in Indianapolis, IN. We’ll help you achieve that enhanced look you want, from teeth whitening to porcelain veneers, to invisible braces, all of which can be a part of a complete smile makeover!
